My oldest child is just slightly obsessed with "choo choo's!" So, picking a theme for his 2nd birthday was pretty easy....trains! We invited baby Brooks (of course), two of Reives's friends who he plays with on a regular basis, some of our best friends that live on St. Simons and their son, who is a year younger than Reives and lots of family! We talked alot about the his choo choo birthday party in the weeks leading up to it, and Reives would name all of the people that he wanted to come to his party (which were pretty much the people we invited.) So, when his birthday party day arrived, he was really excited....especially because he knew his party was about choo choo's! It was a beautiful day with semi-cooler temperatures (we'll take 80's over 90's any day), and the kids enjoyed playing outside in the backyard.

Enjoying a beautiful day!

Cali loved my cousins, Carrie and Anna Kate
These guys look like they are up to something!
The "big kids" had some fun, too
Brooks and Daniel playing with Uncle Don
After some playtime, we let the kids take turns pulling the strings on the pinata! Reives's friend Jack, had one of these at his birthday, and it is such a great idea for young kids. They basically take turns pulling a string, until one opens the door and lets the candy and toys come out.
Next, we moved inside for some presents. Little R was blessed with so many great gifts.
A rocking horse from Grammie and Grandaddy!
A train table from Gigi and G-Pa!
Some plastic bugs and a habitat to go with them! (hence the tree)
A Thomas the Train hat
A bug box
"I love my presents!"
A Thomas the Train pillow and blanket
Checking out some presents with Daddy
Some books and puzzles
Then it was time for cake and cookies:
Reives's Birthday cake...decorated by Nana and Grammie and train cookies made by Aunt Carolyn
Singing "Happy Birthday" (notice we didn't light the candles this time)
"It's my birthday!"
Eating "Choo Choo" cookies
Enjoying some birthday cake :)
Little R sure had a blast at his birthday party this year! It was such a special celebration for such a special little boy. We are so thankful to all of our friends and family that came to celebrate with us. We just love our little two year old to pieces.
Here are some extras:
Grandaddy and his "mini me," Brooks
Don't forget about me! I loved my big brother's birthday party!
