Our little Brooks is now 9 months. I cannot believe that in less than 3 months, he will be a year old already!!! It is so hard to believe. As I have said before, everything goes so much faster the second time around. Brooks is doing great! He is eating like a champ. I have yet to find a food he will not eat. He still eats mostly baby food but is eating some finger foods also (cheerios, green peas, and small pieces of cheese). He is crawling everywhere and has just started to pull up some on his own. He is babbling "dadadada" and "mamamama" and squeals and screeches alot. We call his squeals and screeches his "teradactyl" sounds because that is what they sound like. (Not that I have ever actually heard a teradactyl, but based on "Jurassic Park," I'd say he is pretty close.) Brooks is still a very laid back and happy little guy. If this gives you any idea of his personality, the other day when he was really tired, he started crying in high chair. He cried for about 30 seconds, and I thought, "I can't remember the last time Brooks cried like this (unless he was hurt)." He is just usually always happy :)
Brooks's hair is growing in alot and is pretty blonde, and his eyes are still very blue. He just had his 9 month appointment, and he was 28" long (40%) and weighed 20 lbs 6 oz (47%). We also recently visited the pediatric orthopedist about his feet being a bit curved inward. The doctor feels they are improving and has suggested that he just wear his shoes when sleeping now that he is standing and pulling up some. The orthopedic shoes he has are not for standing. The doctor feels that as he begins walking, his muscles should balance out and begin correcting themselves. His case is so mild, so he is not very concerned and feels the situation will continue to improve and work itself out.
Here are some other cute facts about little Brooks:
-Brooks is now often referred to as "Brooksy, Brooksy" in our house. Reives constantly calls him that, so Trey and I find ourselves calling him that too. Poor Brooks :(
-Brooks laughs and laughs when Reives lays on top of him. It is so funny.
-He still loves his pacis, but usually uses them for sleeping and riding in the car.
-He is very attached to my T-shirt squares that I cut up for him when he was a baby. He has to have one for sleeping. If he drops it out of his crib, he will fuss until you come get it for him. He loves to hold it and rub his face with it. It is so sweet :)
-He does not seem to like Chip as much as Reives did at this age. He cries if Chip licks his face and when Chip takes his cheerios out of his hand.
-He has started to dance a little and bounce up and down when he hears music.
-He is an excellent napper and generally takes long naps, especially in the afternoon (at the time when Reives naps.) Yay for napping at the same time!
-Brooks is extremely impatient when it comes to his food. He fusses alot if you do not feed him one bite right after another. Like I said, he loves to eat!
-He is still very picky about his bottles. They have to be warm or he refuses to drink them. So funny! I get annoyed at times because I have to bring thermosts with warm water in them to warm his bottles when we go places. But, if this is one of his worst baby habits, I really can't complain :)
-Brooks has 4 teeth (his bottom middle teeth, and then one next to the middle ones. then, he has a random top tooth that is off to the side.) It is really cute and funny! He is about to get 3 others on the top. They are all right under his gum about to come through...poor thing!

Happy 9 Months, sweet baby, boy!
