Oh, and I almost forgot that my little Brooks said two new things over the weekend. When playing "a game" with Grammie, he said "again" several times when she would let the hat fall off of her head. He also said, "Hey Daddy" when Trey walked in the room :) I just love that sweet little voice!
My other little man is also saying new words and phrases everyday. For instance, whenever I wear my hair down these days, he says, "I no like mama's hair." For some reason, he only likes me to wear it in a ponytail. Can we say opinionated? He also walk around saying, "Mama says, never never sit (spit)!" It is so funny! He cracks us up!!!

Weekend at "The Pond"
So, a few months ago, we (all members of immediate "Cleveland" family) got our calendars together and planned a weekend to all go to "The Pond" in south Georgia. Well, we picked the first weekend in March. If we had known the temperature would not venture out of the 40's all weekend, and that the sun would not come out, we may have picked differently. Nevertheless, Friday morning, we loaded up the car and headed out bright and early at 7:15. After 5 plus hours in the car (which included one stop and a 30 minute detour because of river flooding), we arrived at Covey Rise! Oh, how I love that place. It brings back so many memories of my childhood, and I love that my husband and boys are now getting to enjoy it!
Even though it was cold, which meant alot of time inside, and the four of us were battling and getting over bad colds, we had a great time with Grammie, Grandaddy, Aunt Laura, Uncle Josh, and Baby Jaymie. We went out to dinner Friday night, and then we spent all day Saturday and Sunday morning just hanging around, relaxing, playing with babies and toddlers, and catching up on life. I am sure the guys have a very different story of how the weekend went....mixing concrete, clearing trees from the edge of the pond, filling in a road with rocks, driving the tractor around, etc. Even thought it was literally freezing outside, Reives had a ball hanging out with the guys all weekend. He literally threw a huge tantrum every time we made him come inside. He "helped" Daddy and "DeeDee" (Grandaddy) "with their tools and look for deer." He went on several hour plus long tractor rides with Trey doing who knows what.
All in all, we had a wonderful weekend. Hopefully next time we can pick a warmer one, though!!!

11 Months
My little Brooks is 11 months old! Where has the year gone? This blue eyed little guy is so much fun! He loves to explore and get into every cabinet and drawer in our house. You can just see his little wheels turning as he attempts to rummage through anything he can get his hands on! He loves his big brother Reives, but he is definitely getting more vocal when Reives snatches his toy (which happens on a regular bases...we are working on sharing). He makes all kids of noises and babbling sounds, and he loves to sing himself to sleep in the car. He tries to repeat alot of words, but he has still only said "mama" in relation to a particular thing. He is very into books and gets so excited when I pull out a few books to read with him. He insists on turning all of the pages, and he likes to point to the objects on the page for me to tell him what the objects are. Brooks is a huge eater just like his brother. I seriously cannot keep enough food in the house for these two little guys!!!
He is cruising more and more, and he walks behind his push toy all of the time now. It won't be too long before he is taking steps on his own. Brooks still has to wear his orthopedic shoes at night. He has the tiniest little feet I have ever seen. A few days ago, we went to buy him a good pair of walking shoes. Because of his foot issue, the man at the shoe store recommended a particular shoe that is really lightweight and stable for early walkers. However, his foot was way too small for even the smallest size in that brand. His foot measured between a 2.5 and a 3! I think average for his age would be a 4. Poor little Brooks....hope his feet will catch up soon!! We have had several doctor's visits in the past month due to those sweet, little ears. Hoping we won't have any more ear infections, but everytime he gets a cold, he gets one :(
Other things going on with Brooks:
-such a Mama's boy and very clingy to Mama. often cries when I walk out of the room.
-loves to dance and "sing"
-his favorite foods are strawberries, peach yogurt, roasted sweet potatoes, and sharp cheddar cheese cubes
-Brooks does not seem to be much of a morning person. He is a little grump in the mornings until he gets his bottle.
-Loves, loves, loves bathtime. He gets so excited as soon as you carry him into the bathroom naked because he knows what is coming.
-Brooks loves to crawl around outside and explore. We have had so much rain lately, so this has been difficult.
-has said these words (copying after us), "mama," "dada," "yeyow" (yellow), and "ball"
-continues to look just like my dad...so crazy!
-is starting to need 18 month clothes....his belly is still very round :)
-is affectionately known as "brooksy" in our house. As you may remember, he used to be "baboo" and now he is "brooksy."
We all love our little "Brooksy" to pieces. Here are some pics:

Two Little Monkeys....
"Two Little Monkey's Jumpin' On the Bed, One Fell Off and Bumped His Head!"
Every morning, I get Brooks up first, around 7:20 or 7:30 and give him his bottle. Then, we got get Reives up. Reives always says, "Brooksy in crib." So, I put Brooks in his crib, and they stand at the rail and jump and bounce and laugh like crazy. It is soo cute :) I love these silly monkeys!!!

Taking Steps
This was taken on Jan. 24 (my mom's birthday!) Little Brooks decided he wanted to do some walking. He hasn't been too interested in doing it since then, but we are glad he is taking some steps. He is pulling up on everything but isn't too into cruising yet!
"Ma-ma"
So from what I hear almost all kids say "dada" before they say "mama." Well, not my boys! Reives said "mama" first...about a month before he said "dada." Brooks actually babbled "daddy" a few months ago (before he babbled "mama"), but he said "mama" in correlation with one of us first. Be. still. my. heart. Even thought it was when he was crying in his high chair, it was so sweet :) Between sobs, I hear this little "mama!" I love that little baby :) He is growing too fast!!!
